The gist of the game is very simple. It involves swinging the bull’s nose ring that is attached to a string, in an arc so as to hook the ring onto the bull’s nose and attached hook. The ring must be caught on the hook in the bull’s nose to count as a successful throw. Once achieved you ultimately score a point and Ring The Bull™ Try to beat the high score and have hours of fun! Legend has it the game was brought back to England by Crusaders from Jerusalem. This story appears to have come about primarily from the game being played in the most famous and oldest pub in England "Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem" situated in the cliffs underneath Nottingham Castle. The ”Trip” is an old crusaders tavern dating back to the year 1189 AD. The game is still played at this and many other pubs yet today. After Ernest Hemingway visited the pub during WWII, he took the game back to the Caribbean Islands starting a similar but simpler ring game with just a hook and ring called Bimini. The game is also played in the Florida Key's where his home is situated.
